ABOUT US 

We are a registered CBO No. ISI 5860 based in Nakivale refugee settlement, run by young refugees who want to give the community the opportunity to grow and develop by shearing, teaching and creating a safe place for those who need. 

"JOIN US IN REBUILDING HOPE"

This is a charity organization that is armed to support refugees children and women who have lost hope though providing them a free and safe space for them to learn and create. 

Our projects:

- a school where children of all ages who never got the chance to receive a good education can learn how to read, write, count, social studies and other basic skills

- a class for women to learn english and discuss about lifestyle

OUR STORY

Hello everyone! My name is Imani Wani Moses, the founder of Smile for Peace innovation center. The reason why I founded this project is that I lost my father and my grandmother in the same year and it gave me a hard time in life. My father taught me how to treat other people well, so one day I was thinking about others going trough the same situation as me, expecially children who don't have any parents and are growing up alone, and women who don't have support rising the family. 

I decided to do something and I started listening to their stories and their needs. It gave me the spirit of creating hope for them and I tried my best gifting them some soap, rice, clothes or small things to support them. 

Other young refugees started helping me in this project, we became a big family and here everything started.

After some time we meet someone from very far who believed in us from the first day and started supporting us; now we have a safe place where we teach children and support women with the goal of giving them new skills and the right strength to face life, smiling, laughing and growing together.
